Join Meghan Ruiz, 500 E-RYT for an immersive workshop designed to help newer yoga teachers deepen their understanding of the foundational poses in vinyasa flow: plank, chaturanga, and upward-facing dog. This session focuses on breaking down the mechanics, alignment, and transitions of these essential postures to build strength, stability, and fluidity. Through hands-on practice, detailed demonstrations, and teaching tips, you’ll not only enhance your own practice but also gain the tools and confidence to guide your students effectively. By mastering these foundational poses, you’ll be able to create more cohesive, dynamic, and accessible vinyasa sequences in your classes, ensuring your teaching supports students of all levels.
This training will focus on a group of postures that are traditionally part of the Sun Salutations, but can also be found throughout a vinyasa class as a connection, or flow, between other poses or sequences.
Plank (Phalakasana)
4 Limb Staff Pose (Chaturanga Dandasana)
Upward-facing Dog (Urdhva Dhanurasana)
Within these 3 poses, we will discuss technique, verbal cueing, modifications, and transitions. There will also be an opportunity for hands-on adjustments. We will also leave a little time at the end of each training for Q & A.
